A front passes over the South Island mostly this morning then over the North Island this afternoon and evening, moving from west to east. A period of rain with this front as it moves through then showers in behind for various regions.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy, the odd light shower then rain develops this afternoon before easing in the evening as northerlies change gusty westerly.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloud increases in the morning, rain from early afternoon then easing late afternoon to showers as breezy northerly winds tend gusty west to northwest.

Eastern North Island
Sunny areas and thickening high cloud, some rain moves through in the evening then clearing away overnight. Breezy northerlies tend northwest overnight.

Cloudy, some rain mid afternoon then easing in the evening. Strengthening northerlies tend northwest in the evening.

Cloudy with some rain from around midday then clearing mid to late afternoon. Strong northerlies tend northwest after rain clears away.

High cloud with a few spots of rain developing this morning, clearing in the afternoon then some sun breaking through. Breezy northeasterlies tend northwest in the afternoon. Showers later in the evening as a southwest change makes it’s way northwards along the coast, showers may be heavy with a risk of hail.

West Coast
Rain with heavy falls in the morning, a chance of thunderstorms too then easing to showers in the afternoon as northerlies change westerly.
High: 17
Southland & Otago
A few early spots of rain clear then some sun for a time before showers move in during the afternoon, some may be heavy with thunderstorms and hail about coastal Otago then clearing in the evening. Northerlies change southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-23
