Any early rain or showers clear, cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather in the afternoon, breezy south to southwesterly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with south to southeasterly winds, breezy about Taranaki. Any early cloud clears.
Highs: 16-17
 
Eastern North Island
Showers clear the Wairarapa around midday then Hawkes Bay in the evening, cloud breaks after showers clear with some sun. Gisborne sees rain ease to showers in the afternoon which continue for the rest of the day. Cold southerly winds.

Wellington
Mostly sunny, southerlies tend northerly in the evening.
High: 14
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds, afternoon east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-17
 
Canterbury
Mostly sunny, a touch of high cloud from afternoon. East to Nor’Easterly winds freshen up after midday especially near the coast.

West Coast
Mostly sunny with some high cloud developing about South Westland in the morning then spreading into North Westland during the afternoon. Light west to southwesterly winds.

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny however expect some high cloud to gradually increase during the day, light northwesterly winds however winds tend easterly about coastal Otago.
