A northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, there may be a light shower or two about some North Island regions otherwise mainly dry. The South Island is fairly dry in the east although expect rain in the west.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy, perhaps some sun now and then. The odd patchy light shower possible too especially about exposed eastern coastal parts otherwise mainly dry. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Areas of cloud and some sun, sun more likely about southwestern parts and cloud thicker about northeastern parts of the Central North Island. Perhaps the chance of a brief light shower or two about otherwise mainly dry. Northeaserly winds.
Highs: 21-27

Eastern North Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, northeasterly breezes.
Highs: 23-24

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northerly winds.
High: 22

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with some morning high cloud clearing away about Marlborough. Cloudy in the morning for Nelson with a few showers, perhaps a few sunny spells from afternoon. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-25

Canterbury

Morning high cloud with a few spots of rain possible, sunny areas a little more frequent from afternoon. Northerly winds.
Highs: 26-27

West Coast

Cloudy with spells of rain, chance of the odd heavy fall. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-21

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and some high cloud, cloud thickens in the evening. There may be a spot of rain at times otherwise mainly dry. Western parts of Central Otago are cloudy all day with rain at times spreading from the west. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-24
