Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and increasing cloud from morning, the odd shower later in the afternoon about Northland and Auckland then turning to rain. Showers then rain spreading further south later in the evening and overnight. North to northwesterly winds. Quite humid.
Highs: 26-28

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Becoming mostly cloudy in the morning, the odd patchy shower moves in during the afternoon. Rain later in the evening for Taranaki. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 23-24

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with some increasing high cloud, a few spots rain may spread into the Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay later in the evening. Light winds tend northwest.
Highs: 29-31

Wellington

Mostly cloudy with strong North to Nor’West winds, a risk of gales. Chance of a shower late afternoon / evening.
High: 22

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas and thickening high cloud from morning, north to northwesterly winds gusty at times after midday. Warmest temperatures are for Marlborough.
Highs: 23-27

Canterbury

High cloud with some sun breaking through thin areas at times, gusty Nor’West winds. Winds may tend southerly late afternoon, mainly near the coast Banks Peninsula southwards.
Highs: 29-31

West Coast

Cloudy with a few spells of rain moving through North Westland, easing in the afternoon to showers. Further south expect just the odd shower about. Winds from the northwest then changing southwest later in the day.
Highs: 20-23

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas with breezy northwest winds, a few showers move through in the afternoon (more so about Southland) as winds tend strong westerly.
Highs: 18-23
