A front moves off the North Island this morning / early afternoon so expect showers to start for many regions then sunny areas break through. The South Island is fairly settled.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning showers mostly clearing although the odd one could continue through the day, sunny areas break through from morning. Winds brisk and gusty from the southwest.
Highs: 17-18
 
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning showers clear then sunny areas increase, southerlies die away.
Highs: 16-18
 
Eastern North Island
A few morning showers as winds change southerly early on then clearing in the afternoon with sunny areas developing, southerlies die out by evening then tend light northeast.
Highs: 17-18
 
Wellington
Any early showers clear then becoming sunny with southerlies dying away in the morning, northerlies from afternoon.
High: 15
 
Marlborough & Nelson
A mainly sunny day after any early morning cloud clears, southerlies early on die away.
Highs: 17-21
 
Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, gradually increasing during the day.
High: 20-21
 
West Coast
A few morning sunny areas then cloud thickening after midday, the odd shower from afternoon about South Westland. Winds fairly breezy from the west.
Highs: 14-15
 
Southland & Otago
Areas of sun and high cloud, cloud thickening up from afternoon about Southland and inland Otago. Spots of evening rain for Southland and western inland Otago. Winds brisk from the northwest.
Highs: 17-20
