Saturday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Mostly fine and sunny weather for most today, it will be a cold start though with heavy frosts in inland areas of both Islands.

Sunny across most of the North Island however there will be the odd shower and some cloud about the east coast gradually clearing as the day moves on, cool southwesterlies will ease there. And about Northland some high cloud will develop in the afternoon with winds tending easterly.

Clear skies across all of the South Island with light winds, a little cloud about Fiordland later in the day as winds tend northeasterly there.

Temperatures will range from the mid teens about the upper North Island to the high single figures in the lower south.
