A humid northeasterly airflow lies over the country today, fairly cloudy for many with patchy showers or drizzle about for some. Some may remain mostly dry also. For more details check out the forecasts below.

Northland
Cloudy with patchy drizzle, the odd shower about. Later in the evening showers look a little more widespread. Humid with northeasterly winds.
High: 25

Auckland

Mostly cloudy, a few showers possible mainly this morning. Humid north to
northeasterly winds.
High: 24

Bay Of Plenty

Periods of cloud with northeasterly winds, chance of a shower or some
drizzle mainly morning.
Highs: 25-26

Waikato & Central North Island

Mostly cloudy with light northerlies, a few patchy showers or some drizzle
about mainly afternoon and evening.
Highs: 24-27

Eastern North Island

Morning cloud breaks to a few sunny spells around midday, light winds. Late
afternoon or evening there may be an isolated shower or two, mainly about the
ranges. Skies clouding over during the evening.
Highs: 23-24

Taranaki

Morning showers, easing around midday and becoming few and far between.
Cloudy with northeasterly winds. Overnight expect showers again then rain
towards dawn on Sunday.
Highs: 24-25

Western North Island

Sunny areas and some cloud with easterly winds in the morning, winds tend
westerly in the afternoon. From late afternoon a few isolated showers are
possible from time to time.
High: 28

Wellington

Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas by midday, southeasterly winds die away
in the evening. Later in the evening cloud increases again with northerlies,
overnight a few spits of rain move in.
Highs: 23-24

Nelson

Any early cloud clearing to mostly sunny weather, light winds tend
northeasterly by midday. Cloud increases in the evening with the chance of a
shower or two, rain towards dawn on Sunday possibly heavy.
Highs: 23-24

Marlborough

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather in the afternoon, easterly
breezes ease in the evening. Overnight high cloud thickens with light
northerlies.
Highs: 23-24

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy with east to northeast breezes, patchy drizzle clearing late
afternoon or evening nearer the coast. Inland may see showers however they
should clear around midday. Overnight high cloud thickens then a few showers
spill over from the West Coast, showers could be heavy about the foothills with
a flicker of lightning.
High: 20

West Coast

Patchy showers or drizzle clearing around midday for North Westland, a few
sunny areas then break through. About South Westland morning showers eases to
drizzle, overnight showers move in again possibly heavy with thunderstorms.
Light winds tend northeast.
Highs: 20-23

Coastal Otago

Morning drizzle clears, mostly cloudy although there could be a few PM
sunny spells. Late afternoon / evening there may be a shower move in.
Highs: 20-21

Central Otago

Patchy morning showers / drizzle clears then expect afternoon sunny spells,
chance of a further shower in the evening. East to northeast winds.
Highs: 23-24

Southland

A few morning drizzle patches clear then sunny areas develop, in the
evening further showers move in possibly heavy. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 25-26
