A west to northwesterly airflow lies over much of the country today, meanwhile a ridge lies over Auckland / Northland. Mainly settled weather for New Zealand, winds tend easterly in the east and westerly in the west. High cloud for the southern half of the South Island, mostly sunny elsewhere although there could be some morning cloud.

Sunny areas and some cloud, light winds this morning then afternoon sea breezes. Chance of a shower.
Highs: 26-27

Auckland

Cloudy at first but sunny spells later with light southwesterlies, building a little this
afternoon. Risk of a shower, otherwise dry.
High: 26

Bay Of Plenty

Morning cloud breaks to fairly sunny weather, chance of an early light
shower then again late afternoon / evening. Light winds tend northerly this
afternoon.
High: 26

Waikato

Morning cloud breaks to fairly sunny weather, light west to southwest
winds. Mostly dry, risk of a shower though.
High: 26

Central North Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light westerlies.
High: 26

Eastern North Island

Sunny, east to northeasterly winds a bit breezy this afternoon.
Highs: 23-25

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with light northwesterlies tending westerly this
afternoon.
Highs: 23-26

Wellington

Sunny with northerly winds, a little breezy this afternoon. Warmer
temperatures in the Hutt Valley.
High: 22-25

Nelson

Sunny with light winds this morning, afternoon northerlies. Warmer
inland.
Highs: 24-26

Marlborough

Sunny with northerly winds this afternoon.
Highs: 29-31

Canterbury

Sunny with light winds then afternoon easterly winds near the coast,
northwesterlies inland with hotter temperatures. Some high cloud develops in the
afternoon Banks Peninsula southwards.
Highs: 28-31

West Coast

Mostly sunny with west to northwest winds, high cloud Hokitika
southwards.
Highs: 19-23

Coastal Otago

Sunny areas and some increasing high cloud, light winds tend easterly this
afternoon.
High: 24

Central Otago

Plenty of high cloud, sunny areas about too. West to northwesterly winds.
Hotter weather in the east.
Highs: 24-30

Southland

Plenty of high cloud with northwesterly winds, chance late spot of evening
rain.
Highs: 23-24

So windy from the SW the needles are raining down as normal
