New Cyclone potential for the South Pacific this coming week. For now the eastern side of Australia looks more at risk than NZ does. Here’s the latest 15 day rainfall map showing the tracking of that tropical rain looking more likely in Australia than NZ. It’s too early to lock in though – so we’ll continue to provide a daily update on this until we know more.

🌀The next tropical cyclone is likely to be under #Australia's monitoring.
You can see the risk becomes significant this week over the Coral Sea. Beyond there, it may hug Australia's east coast, or stay out at sea. See this animation from @BOM_au here:https://t.co/qcgiZ3ZctJpic.twitter.com/CdzU6Yzr9R
Scott Base in Antarctica shares the same time zone as New Zealand’s mainland. But check out their next sunset! 1:13am Wednesday, February 2024. Everyone else in NZ has a sunset tonight!
🇳🇷#Nauru just south of the equator whilst South Tarawa, capital of 🇰🇮#Kiribati, just north of the equator.
🌀Two lows side-by-side, either side of the equator, spinning opposite directions🌀
I hate this new format. It’s too confusing and I don’t like the idea of flipping here and there to get the basic information. Too clever for me, I’m afraid.
You find using the links and resources on our website too confusing? Then just use our 10 day local forecast and keep it simple for yourself. Also, you don’t have to link off to any of the Twitter/X stuff – it can be viewed within out website, but we are working on a better system next year once we get more resources to do so.
