Saturday and whats happening in the big city?

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Wellington appears to be in the firing line today with bleak conditions expected with a strong southerly change and a solid period of rain. It shouldn’t be bitterly cold but temperatures are looking decidely cool.

Auckland and Hamilton  may see a few splashes later today but sultry conditions with temperatures in the low 20s are likely for the most part.Tauranga is looking dry but quite cloudy with a nor’ wester and the mercury topping out in the low 20s.

Further south and it’s much cooler with Christchurch struggling to hit the mid teens after a southerly moved through overnight .

The final day of the first cricket test in Dunedin between the Black Caps and Pakistan looks like a full day’s play should be possible with mostly clear skies overhead but chilly and rather breezy conditions won’t make it the most comfortable of days for sitting on the University Oval banks.
