Sat. drier than Sunday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The first day of the weekend appears to be more settled than what could take place tomorrow however one saving grace is that the weather in Dunedin could help the Blacks Caps save the first cricket test against South Africa tomorrow.

The southern city is likely to see some rain move in and hang about overnight and tomorrow morning before a gradual clearance and the moisture could see the game put on hold for a little while tomorrow which would allow time for New Zealand to possibly salvage a draw.

Facebook readers on the WeatrherWatch facebook page were enjoying some early Autumn sunshine today.Sally Eyre of Wellington posted”Stunning in Wellington. Not a cloud in the sky, warm, only a light breeze. Three loads of washing on the line!”.
Just up the road from the Capital and Niki said “Absolutely gorgeous and so warm with the slightest breeze here in Palmerston North”.
Cantabrians weren’t quite so positive with Emma posting”Christchurch is overcast and cool, bit of a wind blowing as well.. definitely be heatpump time in a few hours” and Mike was getting a bit frustrated it seemed” blustery NE wind in Christchurch! hate it! not cold though id say early 20’s havent checked yet.

Winds should ease for Christchurch tonight but tomorrow some light liquid sunshine might fall on the final day of the Ellerslie Flower show but winds should be gentler after a blustery day today.
