Welcome to the 2016 Santa Tracker! Because it’s now past 11pm on Christmas Eve the Santa Tracker is no longer live, but below is the final image (taken 11pm Dec 24 NZT) showing just how close Santa and his reindeer are!

At 11pm it has to be switched off – by law we have to do this before Santa arrives over New Zealand air space due to security reasons!

The weather forecast was mostly settled for Santa’s journey. Tracking over Alaska, then Hawaii, then twisting around the stormy parts of the Pacific Ocean.

Merry Christmas! We left some mince pies and milk out for you and some carrots for the reindeer. I hope you have a very safe journey! I haven’t been a very good girl this year, but I promise that if you get me everything I want I will try to be good next year! Merry Christmas!

its beau here im glad you are on youre way tonight sometime i hope you and the raindeer have a safe trip and font speed the weather isnt good at the moment i had a car accient 9 years ago so i just want you to be safe santa iv got cookies out for you and milk to for the raindeer i hope you have a great night santa
