A westerly airflow brings showers to the western North Island on Tuesday, showers in the morning south of about Auckland and north of about the Central North Island may be heavy then easing from afternoon. The east coast is mainly dry but a few spots of rain may spread into Wairarapa at times.
A mixed bag for the South Island, the West Coast experiences showers at times for most of the day. Nelson / Marlborough has morning showers then sunny spells. Canterbury has coastal showers clearing in the afternoon then by evening widespread showers move in. Southland and Otago has morning rain then easing to showers. Overnight rain moves in again to Southland bringing snow to 300m.
Rain or showers at times for most regions around New Zealand through to Thursday morning this week. The West Coast clears up on Wednesday morning to a mainly sunny afternoon, Thursday is sunny for the West Coast once again.
