Rainwatch – Friday 8th March 2019

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A frontal system is moving onto the western North Island currently bringing areas of heavy rain from Wellington right up through to Northland, some isolated spots are a bit patchy. This rain will ease later this afternoon and evening as it pushes further eastwards. Hawkes Bay and Gisborne may not see some rain till later this afternoon or evening.

Areas of rain or showers Banks Peninsula northwards for the South Island will gradually ease this afternoon and clear in the evening, a few showers may hang about the Sounds and Tasman till overnight however then clearing away. Conditions are now mainly dry further south.

Looking drier tomorrow however there will still likely be a few showers about for the North Island and the far south of the South Island.
