> From the WeatherWatch archives

An anticyclone lies over the South Island today while fresh southerlies lies over the North Island, but gradually easing.

For Northland and the Coromandel there may be a few isolated showers late afternoon / evening today otherwise fairly dry for the western North Island. Perhaps a shower or two may sneak into the Manawatu from the east at times. Wellington could see a shower this morning then becoming mainly dry. The East Coast sees rain this morning then easing to showers in the afternoon, rain may not ease about Gisborne till evening however.

The South Island has a mainly dry day. Just the chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening about inland parts of Otago and Southland.
