More rain for the West Coast this morning as a fast moving front zips northward and this afternoon it may produce a few heavy showers for the North Island’s west coast. Showers are also affecting parts of Southland.
A number of people reported to a rainfall total of 25mm yesterday across Auckland and Waikato. If you recorded even more, please let us know.
As for today those showers in Southland will ease as the energy shifts into the North Island.
The front is weakening as it heads into the North Island though – but a few showers are predicted from Taranaki southwards.
A few isolated showers could affect any part of New Zealand too – especially the North Island.
Next main band of rain looks set to cross New Zealand this Wednesday and Thursday and looks set to also bring showers into the east coast.

Recorded 54 mm of rain yesterday. Fell in four ‘showers’ of 20 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 8 mm.
Live Maungatapere approx 10 km west of Whangarei. Everything looks greener already.

This is not an accurate weather ob but I found about half a wheelbarrow full this morning. The soil in my garden was damp only a couple of cms.

We are East Coast at Kerikeri and there was nothing to measure. We could see heavy showers less than 10kms to west of us but not a drop here. We are gutted.
