As you can see by the map below tomorrow is looking quite dry still for most of New Zealand, just the odd shower or drizzle patch is expected for Fiordland.
Friday looks dry also then this coming weekend and early next week a few rain producing systems will move through. Naturally western regions bear the brunt of these incoming systems but some rain or showers should make it eastwards also as the airflow tends more to the south from Monday.

this is what does the damage too long between rains and gives you low totals as it wastes the days to give you rain and not getting any thing from useless fronts or troughs
