As exclusively predicted by WeatherWatch.co.nz a week ago heavy rain warnings are being issued for the North Island as a heavy rain band moves over the region. The crown forecaster indicates more to be issued for the Top Half of the North Island later today or tomorrow.

In the 18 to 21 hours from 9pm Sunday till 3pm Monday about the Tararua Range, but till 6pm Monday about Mt Taranaki, expect 100-120mm. Peak intensities up to 20-25mm/hr overnight and Monday morning.
