“Rain is forecast to be heavy at times today. In the 12 hours between 9am and 9pm Friday, expect 60 to 80mm of rain with peak intensities of 15mm/hr” says MetService.

Heavy rain warnings are also in place for Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Marlborough.
