Rain slowly setting in

> From the WeatherWatch archives

WeatherWatch.co.nz has lifted rain from the day forecast for Auckland and shifted it to tonight as a frontal band only very slowly moves up the North Island.

Patchy showers and light drizzle are likely along with low cloud about the CBD and North Shore for the rest of the afternoon.

Meanwhile rain continues to push into Taranaki, South Waikato, King Country and Waitomo with heavier rain continuing to push into the lower North Island.

Heaviest rain is falling in Horowhenua, Kapiti, Hutt Valley and Wellington.

Most rain has now cleared the South Island with just light precipitation this hour.
