Rain and snow warnings issued across NZ

Heavy rain and snow warnings have today been issued across New Zealand as a developing low pressure system crossed the country.

In the North Island heavy rain is predicted in Bay of Plenty and Rotorua.  “Eastern Bay of Plenty, rain is expected to develop Saturday afternoon and become heavy in the evening. In the 15 hours from 4pm Saturday to 7am Sunday, expect 70 to 100mm of rain in the ranges. Peak intensities of 15mm/hr overnight Saturday” says MetService.

Meanwhile in the South Island snow warnings have been issued.   “Inland Canterbury south of the Waimakariri River In the 20 hours from midnight Saturday to 8pm Sunday, expect 20 to 25cm of snow to accumulate at about 500 metres, with lighter falls down to 300 metres. After 8pm Sunday, the snow should ease” says MetService.

Hi there, is there much rain on the way for Tauranga? Whats the out look for tomorrow? wet or dry?
