POLL RESULTS: Summer growth not here yet on kiwi lawns

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Summer is backyard cricket season, but with a dry spring in parts of the country, and a strong El Niño system dominating our weather in the latter part of the year, some lawns have been looking more brown than green!

We wanted to know how kiwi lawns were going, so in last week’s poll we asked how often you were mowing your lawn – and the results were mixed.

More than 90% of those who voted said they were either mowing weekly (42%) or every 10 days or more (49%), while a surprising 5% of readers said more than once every week!

As summer starts to ramp up, and we see some good nourishing rain complemented by warm sunshine, lawns will probably start to get away again, and those results should change before long!
