Poll Results: Significant number of Kiwis nervous about summer

> From the WeatherWatch archives

In WeatherWatch.co.nz’s weekly poll we this week asked if you were looking forward to summer – and 35% of you have reservations.

14% said they flat out do not want summer to arrive. 21% said while they do look forward to summer they also have concerns.

The story ahead of the poll talked of parts of New Zealand that are drier than average. Also, there has been some chatter of La Nina this summer which some northerners aren’t fans of. La Nina isn’t locked in, but the potential of it makes campers and grape growers nervous. Some farmers also don’t like a humid summer as it brings more health issues to animals.

An interesting poll result – and we’ll do our best to drill down and provide some support to the 35% as we head into summer.  We’re the forecaster for the people – so if we aren’t helping you enough please do let us know how we can improve.
