Poll Results: People are starting to use heating now

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The results from our latest poll have been interesting to watch over the past week with cooler air in some regions leading to the “yes” answer ticking upwards each day.

At the start of last week it was around 12% now it’s up to 16% thanks to colder air flows affecting both islands. Cyclone Hola also dredged up a colder air flow into the upper North Island for a time this week while the lower South Island had another cold southerly on Friday which means a cold morning this morning for some.

Over 18% say they have used some sort of heating so far this month but 72% had “no way, not even close!” with a further 10% at least seriously contemplating using extra heat to warm up but not actually doing it.
