Poll Results: NZers want a variety of weather on Christmas Day

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Most New Zealanders are wanting a Sunny, dry and calm Christmas Day – with 66% in that group. 22% want it cold, wet, stormy or wintry.

New Zealand’s varied landscape and population means the weather we each want on Christmas Day is as mixed as the weather itself.

Some farmers and growers want rain, some from overseas or with a passion for a snowy Christmas want the weather to be bleak, cold, or to suit being indoors. There’s also a growing number who simply don’t care – perhaps working, perhaps someone who is adaptable to whatever the conditions, or maybe Dec 25th is just ‘another day’ and not something you personally celebrate.

Whatever the reasons, our latest poll certainly shows the majority want sun, calm and warmth. Not everyone will get that on December 25th – but hopefully you get something that works for you at some point across the day!
