The results of our latest poll may be a little surprising to some with 44% of those who responded hoping the weather won’t be sunny and dry.

It may have something to do with the fact that most of us grow up watching and reading about Santa and snow and ice…so a hot day perhaps seems to go against what Christmas Day should be like, even if an ideal Kiwi Christmas should be sunny and hot!

Also with droughts now official in New Zealand many people simply want rain – regardless of what day it falls.

47% want it hot and sunny – many in the east should get their wish but there may be some coastal clouds in other places.
