POLL RESULTS: Kiwis feeling autumnal and springy in the middle of winter(!)

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Winter truly kicked off this week, with the Winter Solstice on Tuesday June 21 (precisely at 10:34am).

While it was our shortest day of the year, (and consequently longest night), our temperatures and weather conditions haven’t felt particularly wintery in some places.

We wanted to get a feel for how Kiwis felt about their local weather conditions – what season does it feel like at your place at the moment – and the results were certainly eye opening!

Nearly three quarters of respondents said it felt like “autumn or spring” rather than winter – while just over 20% believed 2016’s winter had arrived properly.

Just 6% said it still “feels like summer”, and if that was you, please let us know where you are – we’d love to see some photos!
