The results of our latest poll are in – and it seems like Kiwis are itching for swimming season – so much so we’re starting early!

Nearly 60 percent of respondents answered yes to the poll question: “Have you had a dip yet?” and the comments seem to back up the general feeling – that it’s been warm enough to keep us coming back for more.

One commenter, Glyn, said “Had first swim at Arkles Bay Whangaparoa on Friday – absolutely beautiful. Been swimming at Takapuna since then.”

This seemed to sum up the general mood of those in the upper North Island, where the last two weekends have been warm enough to take a plunge.

Not everyone was as keen though, with another commenter saying “The Strait water is still way too cold, was still green a couple of weeks back. Look so nice but brrr.”
