Poll Results: A *lot* of sunburnt Kiwis already

> From the WeatherWatch archives

While we love your honesty in our polls the results of our first poll for December are quite disappointing, considering New Zealand’s high rates of sun related skin cancer.

It seems the early summer weather has caught many off guard as November’s unsettled weather pattern suddenly stopped and the first working week of December was quite summer like. Almost half of our readers who voted say they have already been sunburnt in the past seven days, at 42%.

Even under cloudyish skies you can still get sunburnt – and same goes on a windy, cold, day in summer.

The UV Index is already EXTREME in many areas – and the burn times continue to get shorter & more extreme as we head into to January.

Remember, slip, slop, slap and wrap this summer to avoid getting sunburnt!

Oh and by the way – take a look at Sunsmart.org, especially with the kids, for more information 🙂
