Spring has announced itself this week with some fairly serious drenchings for many North Island towns – and with the slow moving low pressure system on its way down and across the country this weekend, there will be more in the pipeline before next week.
Commenters from rain-affected climes both on the website here and on our Facebook page have been active (perhaps forced inside by the weather) in letting us know just how much rain has fallen – with Helen Rockell saying:
“Northland is the New Westland for the moment. We had 65mls from thunderstorms in 24 hrs yesterday on top of 265 last weekend on top of a couple of meters since end of June and its raining today.”
Others from further south, particularly on the West Coast, which has endured its 18th straight day with no rain, would dearly love some of the north’s excess.
So how has your place been for the start of the new season? Have you had a soaking, or are you feeling good as the days start to lengthen out again?
Let us know in our poll, and tell us where you’re from in the comments!
