Calm conditions across New Zealand saw large areas of fog forming in the North Island and heavy frosts for some South Island regions that had clear skies on Friday morning.
As the large weekend low approaches the chance of fog and frosts fade thanks to the windy, warmer, nature of this system.
However the incoming cloud has also created some fiery sunrises – there may be the same on Saturday morning too, for those on the edges of the cloud/rain.
