The moon was much closer to earth than usual this weekend and the result was a bigger and brighter moon shining across New Zealand.
Despite plenty of coastal cloud most regions seem to have been given a chance to see it.

It did not appear any different to any other night – it did not appear any bigger not from the view in P/nth. And I spent most of the night out in it. Brighter maybe and certainly cooler. But nothing to write home about
