We’re on the hunt for some photos! There are 3 types of photos we especially want to receive and share with other readers.
- Pohutukawa’s in full flower. There are some amazing flowering trees at the moment – send us your best photo of our native Christmas Tree!
- Our most southern flowering Pohutukawa…do you know where it is? We want to get photos of flowering Pohutukawas from as far south as possible!
- Big High Tides – with the extra big moon lately we’ve seen some king tides across the country. In Auckland some beach walkways have been flooded and there are reports of minor coastal damage. Do you have any photos of the high tides, or damage created by them from anywhere around New Zealand? Send them in to us!
Use the Upload Your Photos link – it’s easy and takes just seconds to do!

We may need to wait a little longer to see the full glory of Puhutukawa flowering in the Auckland region.
Flowering seems to be a little later this year. There are trees about with the tops just coming out, but they look to be at least another 2 weeks before they reach their best.
Perhaps the North have stolen a march on us this year?
