26 degrees in Paeroa this morning and leading a number of North Island centres which have temperatures in the low to mid 20s already.

Over the South Island it’s cooler but Nelson has hit the low 20s and for those visiting the sunny region over the Waitangi long weekend, it should be blue skies all the way with the mid to high 20s likely.

To the main centres now…

Auckland        24

Hamilton         22

Tauranga        24

Wellington       20

Christchurch  20

Dunedin           16

The humidity in the north makes it feel somewhat warmer than the temperature suggests and 30 degrees may be cracked in one or two areas this afternoon under sunny skies.
