There are cloudy areas all around New Zealand for Tuesday and Wednesday with downpours forming in northern regions of both islands, some with isolated hail and even possible thunder.
The downpours are hit and miss and will be guided by sea breezes – so can be very hard to specifically pinpoint perfectly in advance, but generally the upper North Island has this risk for the next three days (Tues, Weds, Thurs). Some of these downpours will have hail and thunder.
Some afternoon and early evening downpours (with a chance of thunder) are also forecast for the Nelson Ranges.
Later in the week as the high moves in we should see more cloud evaporate or being pushed away, lifting temperatures further across New Zealand, along with a reduced chance of isolated showers.
