NZ’s frightening forecast for Halloween!

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Scary showers, wicked winds and a creepy cooler change will help make up the weather for Halloween, as many NZ kids stay home this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The weather isn’t overly extreme for Sunday but it is unsettled. Here are the main lowlights:

  • Windy weather through Cook Strait with gales possible
  • A bit windy in a number of coastal areas
  • Rain clearing northern NZ
  • Showers with a cooler southerly change move up the South Island.
  • Western showers in the North Island later
  • Dry in the eastern North Island south of Gisborne
  • 70% chance of being spooked

Whether you’re trick or treating your own freaky family bubble or staying in your haunted home to watch horror movies, we hope you have wicked weather for it!
