NZ in two halves – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre outlook on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Tuesday is shaping up drier in many areas than Monday, while cooler weather presides in the south of both islands, and humid isolated downpours continue in the north.

Tuesday is set to be warmer in the south – and drier and sunnier in the upper north, even though showers and periods of rain will continue.
The humid easterly flow which developed after ex-cyclone Winston continues to linger around Northland all week – as the high pushes in everywhere else, creating a distinct line between thenorth and rest of the country.

Main Centres

Auckland

Showers mixed with some rainy spells but also plenty of sunshine – and humid easterly winds pushing temperatures into the mid to late 20s again.

Wellington

Sunny and clear for the most part, with southerly winds gusting strongly at times – keeping temperatures below 20 for the most part.

Christchurch

Winds from the south and widespread cloud cover restrict temperatures to the mid to late teens here.
