NZ at a glance

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Many temperatures are a little on the cool side this afternoon, especially over the mainland but even Hamilton is on just 13 degrees with some heavy showers about the Waikato region.

A cool west to sou’ west flow is covering much of the country but that hasn’t stopped centres such as Napier, Whakatane and Whitianga topping the 20 degree mark.

A southwest wind change is moving across northern parts of the South island but not delivering too many showers in eastern areas, despite the drop in temperatures.

Tonight temperatures are expected to be cool to cold in a number of regions but especially inland.
