Northeasterlies are back – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre forecast on Monday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

East to northeast winds are the only realy talking point for Monday’s weather – particularly about the Canterbury coastline, which has been used to some more tropical-feeling temperatures recently!

The northeasterly airflow which lies over the country will keep things fairly cloudy for the upper North Island, with the odd shower from afternoon.

A few showers sneak further southwards in the evening, while the South Island can look forward to a mostly dry start to the new week!

Main Centres

Auckland

Cloudy to start the week, with easterly quarter winds, and the chance of a few patchy showers about more so from afternoon – though temperatures will stay in the early 20s.

Wellington

Nice and simple in the capital – sunny with light northerly winds, and some patchy rain coming in overnight, warm-ish, with temps in the early 20s.

Christchurch

Any morning cloud then breaks to afternoon sunny areas, while east to northeast winds become breezy in the afternoon – temperatures breaking into the early 20s here too.
