New weather videos coming – we’re almost there!

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Our new studio is completed and we’re just making sure we’ve ironed out all the technical bugs before we produce our first weather video of the year.

The new studio is in the Bauer Media building – for those who don’t know Bauer they publish the Listener, North & South, Metro and Women’s Weekly to name a few. But it’s the digital division that is working with us to grow our video content again. It’s very exciting to be part of. Their digital division publishes for websites like AutoTrader and FarmTrader amongst many others.

We said back in Summer it would be early to mid-March when we launch our new vids, but I won’t lie, we’re running a little bit late and it looks as though “end of March” is more accurate.

Our videos will still have the same focus – but we do have plans to grow our content this year, branching out to have more specialist videos (during storms etc) and more content for leisure (such as marine, snow or travel).

It’s all early days – and if there’s one bit of advice I’ve been given a lot in this industry it’s “walk before you can run”.

With that in mind – we’re fine tuning things to make the videos better for you and hope to launch very soon.

Thank you for all the interest. I can’t wait to get back into online videos to help better explain the weather setup around New Zealand each day.

Thanks for your patience!

Cheers

Excellent Phil, cannot wait until your vids are up and running. Am disappointed the Herald is running almost daily Met Service ones along with Niwa, Why the heck diid they start up with them when they had you all at WW.

Anyway good luck with it all and I hope you make a big splash when you come back online.
