The heat may not truly be here yet every day but the burn times are – with the UV index already “extreme” at times. This means you can get sunburnt, or damage to the skin, in a very short time. For some people you may get sunburnt in less than 10 minutes in the sun.
Over the past couple of weeks or so we’ve seen some hotter and sunnier days across the country – especially with the winds dying out so people are keener to get out. We also have all the Santa parades, cricket, gardening and other outdoor things we busy ourselves with in late November and the start of December.
Remember the UV index can even be ‘extreme’ on a partly cloudy day – and the temperature makes no difference.
