Some parts of the country are very dry and continue to dry out – others have had far too much rain lately and want the sun to return for several days.
New Zealand has a neutral weather pattern at the moment – ie, no El Nino and no La Nina but in recent weeks La Nina-like conditions have formed around New Zealand and eastern Australia (warm seas making for more rain makers).
At the same time in the Indian Ocean their version of El Nino (called the Dipole) is making for big rainmakers over central and southern Australia – and some of these are clearly spilling over into the Tasman Sea and bringing rain makers to the North Island.
So – which camp are you in?! Need more? Or bring on the sun?
