It’s positive news to see the ozone layer is gradually growing back but here in New Zealand it’s still no secret that we have Extreme UV levels in summer – and every Kiwi can give you a horror sunburn story that will make your skin peel.
Sometimes sunburn catches us on a windy day – we don’t feel the damage to our skin when there’s a cooling breeze on top.
Or how about one of those cool, cloudish days at the beach – you think you don’t need lotion because it hardly feels like summer. That night in the shower, you realise your mistake.
NZ has the highest skin cancer rates in the world – remember to be sun smart: Slip, slop, slap and wrap this summer 🙂
