Our new Auckland forecast page is now up and running – and we’re just putting the finishing touches on the soon to be launched National Forecasts page. The Auckland page has had some positive changes and you may find the layout quite different to what we had before.
A lot more information is now available on the page including sunrise and sunset, air pressure and wind speeds.
It’s also less cluttered and easier to see what’s coming at a glance.
We’ve also given our icons a much needed makeover.
Due to the series of earthquakes in Christchurch yesterday (where our web design company is based and, of course, our weather analyst Richard Green) we have a couple of minor issues that still need to be sorted.
Fine Tuning still to be done
The changes are significant for us too – as the entire way we prepare the forecasts to be displayed has been altered. No doubt there will be the odd technical issue, as there often are when you launch a new product, but we’ll be fine tuning these forecasts over the next week or so, so if you see an icon that doesn’t look quite right for example, rest assured we’re aware of it too.
We’re keen to keep the Auckland forecasts written in the way you’ve become accustomed to, so while the layout is definitely new, the accuracy and unique way the forecasts are written will be staying the same.
p.s. – The comments section will return in the near future. Until then, use the Contact button at the top of the page if you have weather questions – but before you email us, check our Maps page first – it will tell you rain, wind, temps, swells and more for two weeks in advance – for Auckland and anywhere in NZ….or the world!
