Mum’s Day could be a bit wet for parts of NZ

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A low is expected to make its way across the Tasman Sea toward New Zealand next weekend.

A few showers will be possible for Gisborne and Hawkes Bay on Saturday, but otherwise the weekend should start off dry.

On Mother’s Day, a little bit more of the widespread precipitation is expected.  Showers are possible across the western and northern South Island Sunday morning and afternoon.  After sunset, those showers could then spread to the lower North Island.

That will actually be the start of what could be several very wet days in a row as we head through the middle of May.

But, that is a bit of a ways off yet.  So, don’t toss your outdoor plans out the window just yet.

But stay tuned…

The models at this stage look like a bland standard SW flow over the country with showers here and there.
