Mother’s Day could be an indoors day

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Sunday appears to be a little brighter overall than Saturday but for many Mum’s it could be an indoors day in the hope of being a little spoilt as rain or showers tumble down outside.

Although not all areas will see the moisture, the special day for Mum is expected to be a little wet and breezy for more than 60% of the country.
The east of the North Island is looking the brightest with a dry day forecast and quite a bit of sunshine and some sunny and dry spells are possible elsewhere but showers or periods of rain is also probable which could be a bit of a spoiler outdoors.

Even though it may not be wall to wall sunshine on Sunday, the upside is that temperatures are expected to be near normal for early May if not a little above average as a northerly maintains its grip over our shores.

Whatever the weather, weatherwatch.co.nz hopes all Mum’s get treated a little like royalty.

Hi there,

The skies are full with high cloud, sunlight and patches of blue sky coming in from the east. Looking at the Lightning tracker it appears the lightning is going past us out at sea . . . sigh . . . I was so hoping for a good day of thunder and lightning. Is the Tasman system pushing it away?
