Further rain overnight in Hawkes Bay has seen no let up in very wet conditions over the last 48 to 72 hours however a gradual easing is expected today.
Rainfall totals for Napier have been near record levels this week with the city copping over 200mm. Just south of the city and about the ranges, amounts have been considerably higher.
Today the rain should ease this afternoon with a few heavy falls still likely up until this afternoon about the ranges and the run off from this may still be a concern.
Conditions are expected to be much drier tomorrow with the chance of a couple of showers and winds should also ease. A mostly dry weekend is looking quite likely with cloudy areas and temperatures lifting slowly.
