More sunshine and dry weather is on the way for Sunday.
It will be a chilly start to tomorrow. Many areas will likely fall into the upper single digits to teens for overnight lows.
But that February sunshine will go to work on our atmosphere tomorrow morning and send temperatures soaring in many areas.
But, not everyone will see abundant sunshine tomorrow. In fact, there could even be a few drops of rain.
One area that might see some light precipitation is Gisborne. Wind will be turning just a bit tomorrow which will develop an onshore flow for Gisborne and northern Hawkes Bay. That could produce a few light showers. However, this will not be a beneficial rain. Whatever falls will be light which could be as bad as no precipitation at all.
Clouds and a few light showers will also be possible about Westland and Nelson.
Afternoon temperatures tomorrow should be very similar to what we saw today. Highs are expected to be in the mid and upper 20’s for the northern and western North Island. Low to mid 20’s are expected for the rest of the NI. Upper teens to lower 20s are expected for the Mainland.
