Fairly settled across most of the country today. However, a small trough delivers showers to the Bay Of Plenty, eastern Waikato and northeastern Central North Island area. A front moves onto the lower South Island later in the day or overnight with rain.

Northland
Sunny spells with southerlies tending a little more southwest in the
afternoon, chance of an early shower on the east coast.
High: 22

Bay of Islands
Mostly sunny with morning southerlies then light winds in the
afternoon.
High: 23-24

Auckland

Sunny spells with southwesterly breezes.
High: 22

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of
Plenty

Mostly cloudy about the Bay Of Plenty and eastern Waikato, the odd shower
at times with east to northeast breezes. Sunny spells elsewhere with winds
tending more southwest. A few showers may move into northeastern parts of the
Central North Island in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-21

Lake Taupo

Sunny spells with light morning easterly winds, afternoon westerly breezes.
Low risk of an afternoon shower.
Highs: 19-20
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny after morning cloud clears, northeasterly breezes pick up in
the afternoon. Some late high cloud. Northwesterly winds freshen by evening
about the Wairarapa.
Highs: 20-22

Western North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds and afternoon westerlies, some evening
cloud.
Highs: 19-21

Wellington

Mostly sunny after any morning cloud clears, northerly breezes pick up in
the afternoon with high cloud then increasing.
High: 19

Nelson & Kaiteriteri

Mostly sunny, light winds then afternoon northerlies with increasing high
cloud.
Highs: 21-22

Marlborough

Mostly sunny after any morning cloud clears, light winds then afternoon
northwesterlies with increasing high cloud.
High: 25

Canterbury

Mostly sunny after any morning cloud clears, east to northeast breezes.
High cloud increases from afternoon and overnight a few areas of rain may
develop (especially about South Canterbury), spreading from the west.
Highs: 20-21

West Coast

Cloudy periods with light westerlies, rain moves into Fiordland in the
evening then further north overnight. Rain overnight becomes heavy about
Fiordland and South Westland.
High: 17

Coastal Otago

Mostly sunny with westerlies tending northeast in the afternoon, high cloud
thickens from midday. Late evening or overnight some rain moves in.
High: 18

Central Otago

Sunny with high cloud increasing from midday, west to southwest breezes.
Rain moves in later in the evening.
Highs: 21-22

Southland
Sunny spells
with west to northwest breezes, any morning coastal showers clear. High cloud
increases from midday then rain develops in the evening.

High: 16
