A period of calm today with a light west to northwest airflow over the country, there could be a few morning showers about the place that will clear. Overnight a front moves in from the Tasman Sea and delivers a period of rain or showers to some, especially in the west.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny spells and some cloud with westerly breezes, a few showers move in overnight.
Highs: 16-17

Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with some cloud, light westerlies.
High: 17

Waikato
Some fog possible this morning then expect sunny spells and some cloud with light winds tending westerly. Showers move in overnight.
Highs: 15-16

Central North Island
Morning showers clear then expect sunny and cloudy spells, showers move in again overnight. Light winds.
High: 13

Eastern North Island
Showers clear this morning then becoming mostly sunny, light winds.
High: 16

Western North Island
A few morning showers clear then expect cloudy and sunny spells. Cloud thickens in the evening then rain moves in again overnight, possibly thundery.
Highs: 15-16

Wellington
A few early showers clear then expect sunny spells and some cloud, northerly winds increase in the evening.
Highs: 13-14

Nelson
A few early showers clear then expect cloudy spells with light northerlies. Rain moves in again overnight.
High: 14

Marlborough
A few early showers clear then expect mostly sunny weather, some high cloud especially towards evening. North to northwest breezes.

Canterbury
Morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day with northeasterlies along the coast, light winds inland. In the evening some high cloud develops.

West Coast
Rain this morning eases to the odd shower, north to northeast breezes. Overnight rain becomes more persistent with a chance of thunder.

Sunny after any morning cloud clears, high cloud develops evening. Light northeasterlies.
